Honeycomb structures are unique

Honeycomb is composed of beeswax-walled honeycombs, with hundreds of small cells on both surfaces. All honeycomb cells exactly the same size. This engineering marvel is achieved through the collective work of thousands of bees. Bees use these cells to store food and nurturing young bees.
Over millions of years, bees have been using hexagon structure to build their nests. (A bee fossil is 100 million years old have been found). It is amazing that they chose the hexagon structure, not the octagon or pentagon. Mathematician gives the reason: "hexagon structure is a geometric shape that is most appropriate to utilize a portion of each unit to the maximum". If the honeycomb cells built with other forms, there will be unused portion, so less honey that can be saved and fewer bees are getting benefits.

At the same depth, cell shape triangles or rectangles can accommodate the same amount of honey with a hexagon cell. However, of all the geometric shapes, hexagon has the shortest circumference.
In conclusion : hexagonal cells require the least amount of wax in the construction, and store honey at most. The bees would not be able to calculate this, which can only be done with the human complex geometric calculations. This small animal using a hexagon shape in nature, simply because they are taught or " inspired " by their Lord .
Seen from the economic aspect of the building , the bee has given to mankind examples of optimizing costs without reducing the aesthetic value of the building. An admirable lesson of this little creature , which builds its nest.
The second fact is also amazing from the honeycomb, is a very accurate angle regularity. Each cavity is constructed with a slope of thirteen degrees, with the lower parts are inside. These angles are always repeated with perfect accuracy . Thus, the stored honey will not flow out.
In terms of strength, honeycomb hanging and seem susceptible to this damage, actually has great power. The principle is to prevent foreign substances entering the nest. For that, two guards are always placed at the hive entrance. If a foreign substance or insect enters the hive despite this precaution there, all the bees trying to throw him out of the nest
